when looking at what turn a motor is what is the difference between a double and single

it means if you have a 14double it has 2 lots of wire around the armature 14 times, so a 19 single has 1 peice wound 19 times. sigle has more torque but a double,triple are smother.the lower the wind the higher the rpm but higher curent draw from the cells to. hope it's right and helps you...

not necessarily more draw from the cells, that often comes down to the gearing
a double will have more torque and acceleration, where as a single will have more speed i.e. rpm

singles more torque
tripples and quads less torque but smoother rpm delivery and poss more rpm but rpm and torque are affected by duel magnets and quad magnets and also type of brush/spring combination.

yeah the brushless route is the answer but i still rate brushed alot and still run it myself with great results
